Dragonfly Chorus

We will soon begin rehearsals for our Dillard Drive Elementary Dragonfly Chorus! Here you will find music that Mr. Smith will be working on with the members of the chorus. Ms. Dail Rawls from our 5th grade team has graciously volunteered her time and talent to be our accompanist!

Dragonfly Pride
"Dragonfly Pride" is a new school song written for Dillard Drive Elementary by Mr. Smith. The Dragonfly Chorus will learn the song and make a recording of it for use at school.

Marienwürmchen
"Marienwürmchen (Ladybug)" is a setting by Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) of a German folk song. Brahms was a composer from the Romantic era who loved traditional folk music and often used folk music material in his compositions. The first line of text is in German. The second line of text is a phonetic pronunciation guide of the German. The third line is a translation of the text into English.

Tune Thy Music to Thy Heart
"Tune Thy Music to Thy Heart" is a song written during the Elizabethan Era by Thomas Campion. The English language was very different in the early 1600's when this song was written. Mr. Smith has attached the an extra page with the lyrics in the original Elizabethan English, in Modern English, and his interpretation of the lyrics (yours may be different!)
